Man eating plant!

The giant carnivorous plant, Nepthenes McClurii, large enough to consume an adult human being within its corrosive pitchers. This mysterious plant is thought to use pheromones to lure it’s prey close enough, then entangle them within it’s prehensile tendrils and transfer them to its pools of digestive juices!
Sculpted by George Fairlamb, it will be off to the mould makers next week, along with some optional lids for the top of the pitchers. Suitable for lost world jungles, deathworlds and laboratory experiments gone awry!

Hairy Hominids!

We have acquired these hairy hominids from Stephen May, Stephen had sculpted them out of his own interest in the subject some time ago, and we thought they’d make a great addition to our range! Stephen’s description of them;
First is Paranthropus Boisei, or “nutcracker man”. Not many remains have been found, but we know that like gorillas that the species was very sexualy dimorphic. They walked upright, but did not have opposable thumbs. Although not a direct ancestor, they were very closely related to us.
Next is Homo Habilis (handy man). They are a direct ancestor of modern man and were the first to use have opposable thumbs and use tools. They walked upright, but lacked buttocks (which enable running) and would have had a different gait to us. I’ve made him quite hairy as the reduction of body hair is linked to the ability to run.paranthropusboiseiHomoHabalis2006-02-17 14.55.42

Adventurers

Our lost world adventurers are now available to buy in our shop! Inspired by such films as One Million Years BC and At the Earths Core, these heroes and heroines are ideal for battling savage tribes or terrifying scaly behemoths! These 28mm miniatures have been sculpted by Matthew Bickley, are cast in metal with plastic slot bases. We will soon have character cards available for these figures for the superb Pulp Alley rules and it’s Perilous Island supplement.
